Rhythm and Strings Music Therapy provides group and individual music therapy services in Southern Maine and New Hampshire.

We specialize in work with children with autism spectrum disorders, speech and communication challenges/differences, and motor challenges/differences.  RSMT provides services in schools, programs and in-home. 

We serve the following Maine and New Hampshire counties:

Music therapy is the clinical and evidence-based use of music to address the needs of an individual or group. Music based interventions address physical, speech, social, cognitive and psychological goals and are developed and implemented by a credentialed music therapist.

Music therapy is an established healthcare and education profession.  Board-certified music therapists have completed an approved music therapy program and provide treatment under the practice guidelines of the American Music Therapy Association.  

Music therapists provide services in hospitals, schools, rehabilitation facilities, outpatient clinics, hospice programs, senior centers, individual homes, psychiatric hospitals, day treatment centers and drug and alcohol treatment programs.

 

Individual Music Therapy

One-to-one music therapy to address individual goals of the client. Common goals addressed include: expressive and receptive language, communication, motor skills, and social skills.
 
Individual music therapy sessions are offered in your school, home, or facility in Southern Maine (York County) and New Hampshire (Rockingham and Strafford Counties).

Group Music Therapy

Small group music therapy to address groups goals. Common goals addressed include social skills, 

communication, and motor skills.

Presentations and Workshops

Music therapy presentations: Benefits of music therapy, why it is an effective treatment and what a music therapy session looks like.

 

Music therapy workshops: Learn how to utilize music in your classroom to enhance learning.  This is an interactive, hands-on workshop that  shows you ways to utilize music to target developmental skills.  The workshop can be tailored to pre-k through elementary.
