Looking For a Dinosaur

"Looking for a Dinosaur" is a motor song written by board certified music therapist Marie Miller.  The song targets the following motor skills:  gross motor, fine motor, motor imitation, bilateral coordination and crossing midline.  The song also targets following directions, attention and sequencing. 

 

"Looking for a Dinosaur" features five high quality printable visuals to enhance learning and engagement.  Also included is a 6th smaller picture that is an optional addition to the song.  If the purchaser chooses, they may cut, laminate, and velcro to one of the pictures as seen in the video).  

 

Recommended developmental age: 3-12

 

Inspired by the book, "Going on a Bear Hunt," our song "Looking for a Dinosaur" takes children on an adventure where their imaginations run wild as they travel across different terrain while developing motor skills, attention and following directions.  

 

This package is part of our "Whole Body Learning" program which combines music, visuals and movement to engage and activate young brains to enhance learning.  The package is meant for use as a guide on how to implement the activity.  The accompanying video is an instructional video for the facilitator. 

 

This song is not accompanied by an instrument and utilizes patting legs and singing for beat, rhythm and melody.
